Be sure to check your blood sugar level often, it’s especially important when working an overnight shift. I had the opportunity to work last night and figured my sugar wasn’t going to be a great morning number, at least I thought so. When testing my blood glucose at around 7am it was 105 mg/dl. That was with snacking on a few goodies throughout the work night. Of course the good result doesn’t mean not to test yourself often, it’s just that I was working and essentially exercising. Remember, any type of exercise is good for you! Whether your in the gym, playing sports, walking, running or physically working.
Here at Diabetes In The Know We would be interested in seeing what other diabetics’ morning blood sugars are. Please post your readings in the comment section and keep all of us informed. Happy Sunday!
