Israeli firm Betalin Therapeutics has an implantable micro-pancreas that can produce insulin in patients with diabetes.

The biological scaffolding combined with insulin producing cells is an engineered micro-pancreas. Therefore, implanted into a person during a minimally invasive procedure. Betalin‘s head researcher Avi Treves says the implanted device has the ability to produce insulin in response to blood glucose levels. However, the engineered micro pancreastechnology was successful in animal studies and are now raising money for human trials.
