Today Medtronic announced it has received FDA breakthrough device designation for its (PLC) personalized closed loop insulin pump system. It is currently in the development stage. The technology is designed to automate insulin delivery in real-time while personalized and adapts to the user. The system will also provide insights and predictive diagnostics unique to the individual, the goal is to dramatically simplify diabetes management for the patient.
